Facilities
The DLSA boasts two state-of-the-art
facilities ideally located for your convenience.
Both facilities have off street parking, indoor
heated pools and comfortable change room
facilities.
But the most important aspect of our
facilities is the 'teaching environment'. To get
the best out of our classes in a 1/2
hour lesson we need to minimise distractions,
have warm water and be able to teach in a depth
that is not intimidating to the students.
The DLSA facilities are specific
learn-to-swim and squad training facilities
only, we do not have what is termed 'general
public access'. We find that this helps us to
provide a higher standard of class control and
involvement.
The DLSA Wilsonton main pool is kept at a
warm 30 degrees 12 months of the year with the
Hydrotherapy/Toddler Program pool maintaining 33
degrees in summer and 34
degrees in winter. These warmer temperatures mean younger
children feel much more comfortable throughout
their lesson and thus are able to progress more
rapidly.
Through the use of our submersible ledge
system we are able to provide the best possible
teaching depth for a range of different
ability/confidence levels.
All in all our facilities have been tailored
to provide you and your family with the best
possible teaching environment so that all the
swimmer has to do is focus on developing the
skill of swimming.
